What Is an MPAN?

A Meter Point Administration Number (MPAN) is a 13-digit number assigned to your electricity supply point. It’s usually divided into two main parts, with an optional 8 digit identifier on top and the main 13 digits at the bottom. The first 8 digits that are located on the top provide technical information, such as the profile type, metre switch time code, and line loss factor, about the supply. The bottom 13 digits, known as the core, is a unique identifier used for all energy-related processes.
