Ohme Home Pro User Guide
Making the Most of the Ohme Home Pro’s Top Features
The Ohme Home Pro is designed to provide a smart, seamless EV charging experience with advanced features tailored for residential use. Here’s how you can use these features to the fullest:
-
Your Ohme Home Pro's screen will display the vehicle's current and target battery levels, the speed at which it's currently charging, and the estimated time at which your charging session will be completed. It also contains buttons for setting up a max charging session and editing your current session.
-
A max charging session will charge your vehicle to full capacity once it’s plugged in. Note that this type of session will automatically override any currently active charging sessions. Here’s how to start one:
Check that your vehicle is plugged in. You should see the status ‘smart charging’ or ‘car connected’ on your Ohme Home Pro’s LCD screen to indicate that it’s detecting the vehicle.
Tap the blue button labelled ‘Max Charge.’ The screen will turn red to indicate that the vehicle has begun charging.
In the event that you need to pause or stop the session early, tap the blue button labelled ‘Stop Charge.’ The screen should turn blue again and display the percentage of additional charge added during the session.
If you want to resume your max charge session, tap the blue button on the left of the screen labelled ‘Charge Now.’ You also have the option of setting a target charge from this screen by tapping the blue button in the middle of the screen.
If you want to completely quit an ongoing max charge session, simply unplug your car.
-
The Ohme Home Pro lets you make changes to the charge schedule you currently have running by tapping the ‘Edit Charge’ button. From there, follow these steps:
Once you’ve selected ‘Edit Charge,’ you can edit your desired charging percentage using the left button and the middle button on the screen. These allow you to increase or decrease the percentage value.
Tap ‘Next’ once you’re satisfied with the target percentage.
On the following screen, you can change the time that you want your charging session to finish. Again, you can add or subtract 30-minute increments from this time using the left and middle buttons on the screen.
When you’re all finished editing, simply choose ‘Done.’
-
Securing your charger can be done completely through the Ohme app. Users will be able to set up safe and secure charging sessions with their vehicle through the following features:
Vehicle Plug-in Approval - Users can give specific vehicles access to your charger by adding them to the list of approved EVs on the app. Each EV that is plugged in using the Ohme Home Pro will send a notification to your app as long as push notifications are enabled. To set this up, go to the Settings page and select ‘My charger.’ Next, toggle the option ‘Approve each plug-in’ and make sure it’s enabled. This will ensure that every vehicle will need to be approved before the charging session can begin. By default, the Ohme Home Pro app will display a message saying that the charger is locked and the session will need to be approved. A purple indicator light moving sideways will show up on the charger to show that approval is needed via the app. To approve an EV, simply tap the ‘Approve plug-in’ that appears on the Charging page to start a new session.
Locking Charger Buttons - This feature will prevent any unauthorised users from accessing the charger during a charging session. To use this, just go to the Setting page and tap ‘My charger.’ Then, simply enable the toggle for the ‘Lock charger buttons’ option. Any interaction with the charger’s buttons will display a ‘Locked’ message on the screen. When any of the blue buttons are tapped, a message on the charger display will confirm that the buttons are locked. In addition, the ePod indicator light will flash purple when any of the blue buttons are used.
Sleep Mode - After a period of inactivity, your charger will automatically go to sleep to avoid any unnecessary power consumption. The charger display and indicator will turn off after 30 seconds of inactivity. To enable this feature, go to the Settings page and tap ‘My charger.’ There should be an option that says ‘Sleep when inactive.’ Tap the toggle next to it to enable. To wake the charger, simply press any of the blue buttons on the device.

Users with multi-rate energy tariffs like EDF GoElectric and Intelligent Octopus can set up a charge schedule to save money on charging costs. It’s also entirely possible to set up multiple schedules to suit a range of different charging scenarios. For now, let’s go through how to set up your first charging schedule:
Open the Ohme app and tap the main menu icon in the top left corner of the screen, which looks like three small, solid-colored horizontal lines stacked on top of one another.
Tap ‘Charge Schedule,’ then look for the blue circle with a plus sign inside at the bottom corner of the screen. Select that icon to create a new schedule.
Give the schedule a unique label.
Use the calendar icons on the screen to choose the days you want to activate this specific charging schedule. If you prefer, you can also choose to activate the charging schedule on ‘Weekdays,’ or ‘Weekends,’ both options you should also readily see on-screen.
Use the slider to set the target range or battery percentage you need each day.
Set the charging completion time–which is the time that you need your vehicle to be done charging daily.
Save your charge schedule by choosing ‘Create’ at the bottom of the screen. You should see your new charge schedule displayed in the charge schedule menu.
You can also edit any currently existing charge schedules by selecting them from the charge schedule menu. The toggle switches located on the right of each schedule allow you to turn the schedule on and off.
Repeat the steps above anytime you want to add another charge schedule.
-
You can configure the Ohme Home Pro to communicate with your energy provider and, if you have a multi-rate tariff, sync up your vehicle’s charge schedules with your energy tariff’s off-peak rate. This also lets you see the cost of each charging session and the type of energy that’s been used to charge your vehicle, whether renewable or non-renewable. Just follow these steps:
Open the Ohme app and tap the main menu button.Choose the ‘Tariff’ option. Once your tariff is successfully paired with your app, this option should display the text ‘Tariff: Your Tariff.’
Choose your current supplier. Some suppliers may offer several different tariffs. If you work with such a supplier, then choose your current tariff.
Enter your postal code.
After the confirmation, you can choose to set a maximum price that you’re willing to pay for charging. Once configured, your Ohme Home Pro will never charge above this rate.
-
If you have your own photovoltaic (PV) systems installed at home, Solar Boost allows you to minimise your dependence on the grid and instead maximise available solar energy. Follow these simple steps to set it up:
Bring up the Ohme app and go to the page labelled ‘My Charger.’
Navigate to the ‘My Charger’ page, where you should see a button to toggle Solar Boost on. Just tap this button to begin using solar energy.
If you need to turn Solar Boost mode off at any point, just select the ‘Off’ button.

Energy Tariff Integration with Intelligent Octopus
One of the standout capabilities of the Ohme Home Pro is its ability to integrate with energy tariffs and help users optimise charging costs by taking advantage of off-peak rates. If you’re a customer of Octopus energy, your Ohme Pro is automatically eligible for energy tariff integration through Intelligent Octopus. Follow the process below to connect your Intelligent Octopus Tariff to your Ohme account:
Pull up your Octopus Energy app. Tap 'Get Started.'
The app will ask you which device you wish to connect to. Choose 'Chargers.'
When prompted, choose the model of your installed charger and the car you intend to charge.
Enter your Ohme account details on the next page.
The app will prompt you to confirm authentication. Tap the 'Confirm' button.
You’ll then be redirected to the Octopus Energy app. Tap 'Test Connection' from there. The app will proceed to run the test and complete the integration.
If the integration succeeds, a new tab labelled 'Devices' will appear in the Octopus Energy app. You can pair your Ohme account from there.
Once you finish pairing your account, the page will direct you back to the Ohme app so you can control and schedule your charging sessions from there.
You’ll see in the Ohme App that your tariff section should now include Intelligent Octopus automatically. There should also be a schedule for Intelligent Octopus in the schedules section.

Resetting the charger is a viable fix for most temporary issues. Simply perform the following steps to reset your Ohme Home Pro:
Find the circuit breaker your charger is connected to. This will either be located within your main consumer unit or installed separately.
Pull the switch on the circuit breaker into the off position. Leave it off for 10 seconds so that the charger can power down fully and any leftover charge can drain away.
Flip the switch back up and wait for the charger to power on.
You should see the Ohme screen powering back on if the charger’s connection has been successfully reestablished.
-
Before all else, check that your mobile network is operational. You can also try restarting the charger or manually reconnecting it through the app. If the issue persists, contact customer support for further assistance.

In the app, you can toggle between scheduled charging and instant charging modes with a few taps. For immediate charging, simply plug in your EV and start a session via the LCD screen or app, as this will bypass any pre-set schedules.
-
If you switch tariffs, don’t forget to update the new details in the app to ensure the charger continues to optimise charging based on your new rates. This allows the Ohme Home Pro to keep recommending the most cost-effective charging times.
-
The charger itself doesn’t lock the cable in place. Your electric vehicle controls the charging port lock. To untether the cable, do the following:
Make sure the vehicle has ended the charging session before trying to disconnect the cable.
Refer to your vehicle’s user manual for instructions on how to end the charging session. Typically, there’s a button to unlock the charging port, which may be located in the centre console, near the driver’s door, or on the key fob.
-
This may be because your vehicle is set to charge at a later scheduled time. It can also be because the vehicle is already fully charged. It’s also possible that there’s an error with the vehicle, so check for any warning messages. If the vehicle is not charging due to improper connection, try unplugging and reconnecting the charging cable. You can also clean and inspect the charging plug to ensure that this issue is not caused by debris or damage to the plug.
